GAEOC

The Educational Opportunity Centers program provides counseling and information on college admissions to qualified adults nineteen years of age and older such as veterans, active duty military families, and adult high school students who want to enter or continue a program of postsecondary education.   The program also provides services to improve the financial and economic literacy of participants.  The goal of the EOC program is to increase the number of adult participants who enroll in postsecondary education institutions.

The Greater Anacostia Educational Opportunity Center is determined to dismantle systems of oppression and provide all individuals served with equitable post-secondary educational opportunities for college, career, and global success.

Our Story

The Greater Anacostia Educational Opportunity Center was established in December of 2021, determined to dismantle systems of oppression and provide equitable opportunities for underserved individuals predimentely residing east of the Anacostia River in Washington, DC.  The Greater Anacostia Educational Opportunity Center is determined to break the cycle of poverty by providing post secondary educational opportunities to individuals who are determined to further their education and expand their horizons.

College Friends

We help predominantly low-income, first-generation students pursue educational opportunities to be successful in college, career, and life.  We provide free counseling and information on college admissions to qualified adults who want to enter or continue a program of postsecondary education.  Additionally, we provide free counseling for technical and vocational workforce development programs for individuals who are career ready.
